Mayor Lisa Borowsky is encouraging residents to nominate a loved one, friend, or colleague who has served our country for the Scottsdale Salutes program.
The Scottsdale Salutes program, which honors veterans, active-duty military, and members of the National Guard and reserves who have strong ties to the Scottsdale community.

“Scottsdale is home to so many brave individuals who have worn the uniform with honor,” said Mayor Borowsky. “This program is one of the most heartfelt ways we can show our gratitude and ensure their stories are seen and celebrated.”
Selected honorees will be featured on banners displayed along light poles in Old Town Scottsdale for two weeks in November. In addition, they will be recognized at a special reception during the city’s Veterans Day events and invited to walk in the historic Parada del Sol Parade.
“Whether they served decades ago or are currently on active duty, these individuals deserve to be honored in a way that reflects the pride and appreciation of our entire city,” Mayor Borowsky added. “I encourage everyone to take a moment to nominate someone who has made a difference through their service.”
Nominations are open through Friday, Sept. 26, and can be submitted online HERE.
To be eligible, nominees must currently live in Scottsdale, have lived here previously, or have a strong local connection—such as working in the city for at least five years.
