“The response so far has been incredible, and it shows how deeply people care about Old Town’s future,” Mayor Borowsky said. “This task force will play a critical role in guiding meaningful, community-driven improvements, and I encourage anyone interested in participating to reach out before the March 4 deadline.”
The Downtown Task Force will serve as a collaborative advisory body helping to guide discussions, priorities, and recommendations for the future of Old Town Scottsdale. During its introductory meeting, the task force will establish six (6) subcommittees focused on key areas of importance to the community:
- Old Town Scottsdale Character Area Plan
- Old Town Marketing Efforts
- Downtown Crime
- Homelessness in Old Town
- Historic Old Town Aesthetics
- The Entertainment District
Participants identified for the Advisory Council to the Downtown Task Force will directly assist Mayor Borowsky in shaping and refining initiatives tied to Old Town’s long-term vibrancy, safety, visual appeal and lasting success.
“Your insights and involvement are essential,” Mayor Borowsky said. “Old Town’s success has always been driven by our commitment to community partnerships. This task force is the office of the mayor and, in turn, the city harnessing those partnerships and commitment to bring those ideas and vision to fruition.”
